What to Watch When You Have Nothing to Watch

7. Dirty Dancing (1987)

Baby (Jennifer Grey) is a year away from joining the Peace Corps. She’s hoping to make the most of her youth by spending her summer vacation with her parents in a sleepy lodge in the Catskills. However, her luck changes when Johnny (Patrick Swayze), the resort’s dancing instructor, enlists Baby as his new partner, and the two fall in love. Although Baby’s father prevents her from meeting Johnny, she is determined to assist him in performing the summer’s final grand dance.

6. The Matrix (1999)

Neo (Keanu Reeves) believes Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne), an enigmatic figure regarded as the most dangerous man alive, can provide an answer to his question: “What is the Matrix?” Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss), a lovely stranger, contacts Neo and guides him into the underworld, where he meets Morpheus. 4. The Pursuit of Happiness (2006)

Chris Gardner (Will Smith), a single father, has a difficult life. After being evicted from their residence, he and his young son (Jaden Christopher Syre Smith) are left homeless. Chris ultimately secures a position as an intern at a famous brokerage business, but the employment is unpaid. The pair must live in shelters and endure many hardships, but Chris refuses to give in to despair as he struggles to create a better life for himself and his son.

3. Mr. and Mrs. Smith (2005)

A couple in a stalemate marriage, John (Brad Pitt) and Jane Smith (Angelina Jolie), live a deceptively commonplace existence. Each, however, has kept a secret from the other: they are both assassins working for opposing agencies. The reality is revealed when they are both sent to assassinate the same victim, Benjamin Danz (Adam Brody). They realize that they have been ordered to kill each other once they are free of their cover stories, resulting in a sequence of explosive attacks.

The storey of a bride-to-be looking for her biological father is told through hit songs by the popular 1970s band ABBA. The plot is set on a colourful Greek island and serves as a backdrop for a plethora of ABBA songs. A young woman about to marry discovers that her father could be any of three men.

Will Hunting (Matt Damon) is a genius with a genius IQ who chooses to work as an MIT janitor. When he solves a challenging graduate-level math problem, Professor Gerald Lambeau (Stellan Skarsgard) notices his abilities and decides to help the misguided adolescent attain his full potential. When Will gets jailed for assaulting a police officer, Professor Lambeau strikes a deal with him to get him treated by therapist Sean Maguire in exchange for leniency (Robin Williams).
